In my last blog I wrote about the importance of being in the top of the search results for companies. If you want more evidence of this importance, just try and think about the last time you searched for something online. Did you even look at any of the search results that did NOT show up on the first page? Even though there might be millions of pages coming up in our search results, most of us only look at the first 20 or so! This means that we might only look at less than a per mill of the results or not even a fraction of it depending on how many results there are. When put this way, I guess it is no wonder companies are obsessing about domains with pagerank and how to improve it.
